The challenge

The Katwijk Baptist Church wanted to move away from disjointed, manual processes relating to registrations, the agenda and communication. Volunteers and committees spent a great deal of time retyping and keeping records up to date, and information was scattered across various locations.

The aim: a modern, fast website that takes the work off their hands, runs reliably and is easy for the council’s own staff to manage.

The solution

We developed a completely new website based on Next.js, featuring a range of automated processes that take over the manual work.

Registrations are stored in a database. Each committee automatically retrieves its own registrations into its own Google Sheet, which is updated every hour. This ensures that every committee works with up-to-date information, without having to retype anything.

Google Calendars have been set up for all activities. Each calendar is synchronised and merged into a central calendar, from which the website automatically generates all sorts of overviews dynamically. Planning takes place in the familiar Google Calendar; the site updates automatically.

The CMS includes a comprehensive newsletter integration. With just a few clicks, users can create, test and send a newsletter, without needing any technical knowledge.

We use the church’s administrative system to populate a CRM with contacts and segments. Based on these segments, we send targeted emails – both transactional messages and newsletters – to exactly the right people.
