All online platforms provide data, but it’s certainly handy to have a central hub for all reports. Google Data Studio offers this option. By consolidating all these data sources, you can view the most important information in a single dashboard.

Data sources

Google Analytics, Google Ads and Google Search Console are just three of Google’s key services. Each provides its own data source (API). By importing these into Data Studio, you can create tables, charts and other types of reports.

Social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter also have an API, but they are not linked to DataStudio by default. You can create a Google Spreadsheet and update the data in it periodically, or you can use a service such as Funnel.io, which provides data connectors for a wide range of data sources.

Personal dashboard

You have complete freedom when it comes to designing your DataStudio report. You’ll have plenty of options to format it (more or less) to your own liking. We ourselves format the first page of the DataStudio report as an overview, and then delve into the details on each subsequent page.

The basis of a measurement plan

The best way to structure a Data Studio report is based on the insights from the measurement plan. By deciding in advance what you want to measure afterwards, you develop a clear understanding of KPIs (key performance indicators) and the associated objectives. With Google Tag Manager, you can enrich your data sources, such as Google Analytics, as well as Google Ads Conversions, Facebook Ads pixels, Pinterest pixels, etc. The better the quality of the data, the more insights you’ll gain.

Set up DataStudio so that it immediately provides the correct answers and gives a clear overview of the progress towards the targets.
